Unless your son has any underlying health problems, he is probably perfectly normal. It’s hard to define "normal" when talking about height in teenagers because so many things that can influence how tall he gets – and how fast he gets there.

Normal development

Parent heights are a good indicator. A boy with tall parents has a good chance of being tall. Physical activity, nutrition, and certain environmental factors can all influence a child’s height, but genetics will often play the biggest role.

Boys grow about 1 ½ inches per year early in puberty. That rate will increase to about 4 inches per year at their growth peak. They will keep growing until they are about 14-16 years old on average.
